Why Sponsor a food parcel?

Every year harvest for the Hungry helps families and individuals by providing much needed food, in an economically and environmentally responsible way.

Through the sponsorship of food parcels, our trusted national partners are able to purchase food for those who need it most – regardless of race, religion or background.

Buying food locally cuts out the environmental and transport costs of sending food from the UK. It also supports the local economy by enabling our partners to source local produce from local providers, and allows them to by meat and other goods that we cannot send from the UK.

Providing help this way allows our partners to carefully choose the food they will buy in order to meet specific needs of their community. It also means they can continue to provide help throughout the winter because they do not have the problem of finding the space to store hundreds of boxes.
